Hard Rock

Around 1972 an uncle of mine gave me an album that he had found at a bus stop (?) He said that he didn’t want it as it was the biggest load of rubbish he had ever heard. The album only had 7 tracks on it and one of them only had 8 lyric lines!

Anyway I gave it a play and the rest they say is history. I was converted to heavy rock.

The album was Deep Purple’s In Rock.

For the next few years the majority of my listening was taken up by hard rock. After Purple I began to listen to the likes of Black Sabbath and Uriah Heep. I missed the boat on the early Aerosmith but hae made up for it recently.
